    The major international aviation hub of the Indian capital city of New Delhi – Indira Gandhi International Airport serves the National capital and nearby industrial towns of Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad etc.
    In terms of passenger traffic and cargo it is the busiest airport in India, since 2009. There are plans of further expansioin if the trend continues.
    This busiest airport of India is located in Palam, 16km from the New Delhi city center and 15 km south-west of New Delhi railway station.
    It was ranking 12th busiest aiport in world and 6th busiest in Asia in year 2018. Before its management was transferred to AAI (Airport Authority of India), the airport was Delhi Airport was awarded The Best Airport in Central Asia and Best Airport Staff in Central Asia at the Sky trax World Airport Awards 2015operated by Indian Air force.
    There are currently three active passenger terminals, a dedicated Hajj terminal and a cargo terminal.

    Indira Gandhi Airport has three active passenger terminals: Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.


    Terminal 3 is the newest terminal, it was opened in 2010 and is one of the biggest terminals in the world, being able to handle 40 million passengers per year.

    All International flights are operated from T3, Domestic Flights are operated in T1 or T3, depending of the Carrier. Low cost Carriers (GoAir, IndiGo and SpiceJet)
    are operated from Terminal 1, while the other carriers are operated from T3. Check below some information you must now of both terminals.
    The air cargo complex is at a distance of 1 km (0.62 mi) from T3. It has 2 separate brownfield and greenfield cargo terminals.
    The cargo operations at the brownfield terminal are managed by Celebi Delhi Cargo Management India Pvt. Ltd., which is a joint venture between
    Delhi International Airport Private Ltd (DIAL) and the Turkish company Celebi Ground Handling.

    The Greenfield cargo terminal project consists of two terminals spread over a plot of 48,000 square meters and 28,500 square meters respectively
    The cargo operations here received e-Asia 2007 award in 2007 for “Implementation of e- Commerce / Electronic Data Interchange in Air Cargo Sector.
